A: I hate it when people say they can have such amazing skill because they have forever to perfect it, but you can only get so good. Shooting arrows that fast is cartoon logic... You can have skill, but you can only be so good...
B: I feel like many of those characters didn't even do much... It's better to have only a few heroes then a bunch that seem half developed.
C: A bunch of wood elves don't even compare to Itallië and Feanor's kills? Hmmmmmmm...
D: Edacnik lets people ride on him extremely rarely...
E: I feel like we should all nerf our characters a little... From most fantasies, there are amazing heroes, but our RP characters are a bit too good. I mean, the thought of anyone actually dying is impossible if we are all this good.
I shall answer these as best I can.
A: Tell me. If one of us can switch from dragon(a massively powerful creature) to elf(a massively powerful creature) at will, which is the more overpowered? The ability to deflect any and all projectiles as well as being immune to most forms of assault, or just being able to empty your quiver quickly? And on that note, I do not see anywhere that it was Faenor alone killing in that five seconds. I see it as a combination of Itallië(more powerful than Faenor) and the Wood-elves(less powerful) alongside my character that dealt those killing blows.
B: So they didn't. But I had the story originally written for Itallië and Faenor alone, and then I was faced with other characters. Now, in all my other pieces of writing, I've known who was involved before the fact. But when I am faced with all these characters who want to be added, I make mistakes. I apologize for the poor style.
C: This is correct. A bunch of Wood-elves do not compare to Faenor or Itallië's skills. Faenor has been around for nearly forever, and Itallië has been around since before that which Is. Compared to the standard Silvan scouts, that's a bit of a fair assumption.
D: I never said they were on your back. They could have been dangling in your claws as you carried them off to some distant realm to do battle with a foe you were not strong enough to defeat alone. I leave certain parts for the reader to fill in, to visualize what might be. You chose to see them on your back.
E: We put forth our creative power, our will, and we create a being from nothing. All of the characters we create we put a little of ourselves into. Can you really expect yourself or anyone else to change that, to kill yourself off for the sake of something else? Which, on that subject, Faenor does not seem to be that overpowered. In every story I've written concerning him, he dies in the end, usually in some painful way. When I wrote of the ending of Faenor at the hands of Itallië, originally I was going to be very graphic but later changed that for the sake of younger readers. I wasn't going to post with exquisite detail about how Itallië slew him slowly with a thousand agonizing cuts upon his broken body, and after he was dead tore him to shreds and left him unburied for the wolves to devour whatever was left. Did you see that? I think not. So do not make the assumption that we all think our characters are OP.
So, now that we've got that out of the way, what about a slightly depressing story to bring the mood up back to the previous levels? For the duel of Itallië and Faenor left us depressed, and the Song of Valor evidently left people angered but upbeat, and now we need a nice simmer.
(Heart, I see you've volunteered for the position. Thank you for your cooperation, albeit unwilling cooperation.)
