  • Long ago, on the old wiki, a user named JoetheBladeMaster made an RP based around The Fellowship of the Ring. In fact, it was my first RP. Being one of my favorite classics, it inspired me to make my own reboot on this wiki, and by some miracle, became one of the longest running RPs on the wiki. Unfortunately, there came a time when I left the wiki, and the RP came to a standstill. However, with my return, and some discussion, it has been decided that the RP will be rebooted once more.

Frodo Baggins of the Shire has brought the ring to Rivendell. Lord Elrond has called forth a secret council, to form a Fellowship of the Ring. Nine members will be chosen, and one of them must bear the One Ring to Mount Doom, and destroy it before Sauron can reclaim it, and gain dominion over Middle-earth...

DISCLAIMER: As of now, the fellowship is full. Anyone can be an external character so long as it fits the rules stated below.

    Rules:

The first nine members of the RP will be a member of the fellowship. Someone will be the ringbearer, and we will have a vote. If you do not want to be an option for the poll, you can state so when making your profile. You don't have to take the same path as in the book. If you want, you can break the fellowship so long as it makes sense for the breaking to occur. Anybody who joins the RP later on can act as a major character outside of the fellowship. Anybody can have a canon character intervene, but you cannot have your primary character be a canon character. You can only have one character. You may also make a reference to any other characters you have when appropriate. You know the usual RP rules, follow them and everything will work out. Have fun!

    • Name: Arahaelon

      Race: Noldor

      Gender: Male

      Homeland: Lindon, born in Eregion

Age: 7,208 years (born in second age)

History: He was born one year after the founding of Eregion. He lived in Eregion for 450 years, along with his parents and siblings. Soon after his sister's birth, his parents grew concerned with the rising of Sauron, for he had already won over the smiths of Eregion. They set out for Lindon in SA 1200, and made an establishment there. 2241 years later, his father, brother, and he fought in the last battle of The Last Alliance. At that battle, his father was slain by an Orc commander. He was devastated, and beheaded the Orc swiftly. Soon after this, his brother was surrounded by orcs, when one of the Dwarves of Durin's Folk saved his life. Part of this is why he, unlike most other Elves, does not despise the Dwarves (the other reason is that the Elves of Eregion were much kinder to Dwarves). After the battle, he never fully recovered. He stayed in Lindon with his mother, however, his brother, Magoldor, and sister, Galathel, cleft for Imladris. He married a Sindar Elf, Celebremes, from Lothlorien, 200 years into the Third Age. In the year TA 2510, his mother left for Valinor, after his brother was slain by Orcs while journeying to Lorien to visit their cousin. She left because her grief became unbearable, and she wished to see her relatives in Valinor. After that, his wife decided to leave for Lórien with their two sons, Angrendir and Gildir, for she knew that the rising of the Orc threat might separate her and her family. He visited them from time to time, and sometimes his sons would visit him in Imladris. With the Misty Mountains conflicts throughout the ages, he was often separated from his family. Through all of this, the idea of Sauron's darkness never left his mind, and he knew one thing about it. If ever Sauron were to rise again, he would devote his entirety to defeat him.

How he got to Rivendell: He was visiting his sister in Imladris. Being an Elf of the Second Age, Elrond invited him to take part in the secret council. He also happened to be doing volunteer guard work.

Weapon: He uses a High Elven sword, shield, dagger, and bow. He usually wears standard Lindon armor. For the sake of the quest, he wears Elven mail underneath Scout Robes, to keep it lightweight.

Skills: On an Elven standard- Excellent with the sword and shield, good at using a bow, average at riding horses, and passable when it comes to wilderness survival. He is good with crafting and smithery, like most Noldor. He is well learned in lore and knowledge, and has a thirst for greater knowledge.

    • Name: Dolenus

      Race: Elf

      Gender: Male

Homeland: The deserts of Near Harad

      Age: Eh. Pretty long.

History: The history of Dolenus is long - well, not that long. But it is quite boring if you want every detail. He's actually from Lindon or something, born sometime in or around the First or Second Age, and learned in the ways of stealth. Also, one day in the early Second Age or so, while everyone was up and about fighting Sauron, while wandering around in northern Harad, he found a really good spot for hiding that could also feasibly hide a city, so he decided to grab some other elves and show them. They weren't happy about having to live in a desert, but there was a pretty good oasis nearby and a supply of food, and they could see the advantages of keeping an eye on the Haradrim, so some of them moved in. Some. Most of them didn't. Deserts are not for elves. Sand gets everywhere. The ones that did became known as the Edhellith, or Sand Elves. The rest were sworn to secrecy about the location of the city - they could tell everyone they wanted about this hot, sandy new city in the desert of Harad, but they were asked not to tell anyone precisely where it was. For this, Dolenus became known as the 'Wandering King' and is actually well respected in the city of Istlith, but he doesn't give the orders, at least not most of them. The Sand Elves are trained in stealth also, as well as knowing a few things about how all the other elves do things - having originally come from other elven nations and all.

Weapon: Daggers - although if I recall he got some twin elven-knives from Lothlorien, and I'd kinda like those to stay. Also, glass daggers, an assortment of whatever he might need in a backpack, including spare knives, a firestarter, currency, some very nice glass jewelry, and a bottle of water.

Skills: Dolen. Also pretty good with dagger-throwing, hand-to-hand combat, staying alive in the wild.

Weapon: Duskos - a sword, mace and crossbow, all in one! And probably a lot of other things.

Skills: Melee combat, ranged combat, manipulating the fabric of reality

It is the night before the secret council. Many people are gathered in the Hall of Fire, notably Aragorn, Lady Arwen, Gandalf the Wizard, Glóin the Dwarf of Thorin's company, and the Hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, though there are many other familiar or strange faces throughout. Now is the time to meet the people who have been sent from distant lands to take part in the secret council, where it is rumored that they will discuss the alleged finding of Isildur's Bane, the One Ring to Rule them all...

A few men (two of which are Aragorn and Boromir), a few Elves (one being Legolas), a couple Erebor Dwarves (Gimli and Glóin), two Hobbits (Frodo and Bilbo), and Gandalf. You also see Elrond. When you are all seated, he speaks.

"Strangers feom distant lands, friends of old, you have been summoned here to answer the threat of Mordor. Middle-earth stands upon the brink of destruction; none can escape it. You will unite or you will fall. Each race is bound to this fate, this one doom. Bring forth the ring, Frodo."

At that moment, the younger Hobbit walks up to the the center of the meeting area, and places the ring on the table.

    • "Wait... is this the ring? As in the one belonging to the Dark One, from our children's stories and legends?"

    • Arahaelon sits silently shocked at the sight of the ring, disturbed and repulsed by its presence.

    • "Trust not the works of the dark one, they cast long shadows"

    • Eldacar sits back, looking upon the Ring.

"This Ring... Is it the One?" He says as he beggins to stand up. "Then, by the Valar, it is a weapon, a weapon to be used against Mordor! Why not use this Ring?"

"The Ring has the power to corrupt those who wear it."

    • The strange being nods at the words of Galad and Dolenus.

    • "It is easy for you to say. It is the blood of our people that is being shed against the hordes of Mordor. Our people are those who are falling against the darkness that spreads in the East."

    • Galad quietly chuckles "do not presume to know suffering Gondor man. Most of these people have undergone things you wouldn't believe, let alone boast of so arrogantly"

It could be the mask but for some strange reason you find that his voice lacks any mirth

"Not to mention that the usage of this ring would bring a far greater darkness upon your people"

    • "This ring... can it not be used just to win the war, and then disposed of permanently? It would take more an a decade to corrupt the most willful in our ranks. We could win in far less time with it"

    • "The ring corrupted Isildur the day he took the ring, and he was of the great men of Númenór. Some of us here would remember when it happened."

Arahaelon glances over at Elrond, who sits watching silently.

"You do not quite realize the power it holds. It bides its time when it can, slowly wearing away at its bearer, but if ever it truly felt threatened, it would quickly twist the deeds of the men tasked with putting it away to its advantage and it would use them to meet its evil ends- to be reunited with its master. That we should try to destroy it has not reached his darkest thoughts, and that gives us time to act."

    • "The point of using it is to destroy the master. It can't return to a shadow of a worm"

    • "The greater the power of the individual the greater hold Sauron's will can impose upon it. Should an Istari or elder attempt to wield it they would swiftly be consumed. Gandalf's choice of ring bearer seems prudent" (Galad assuming that people have already reached the conclusion that Frodo is Gandalf's preferred ring bearer"

    • Elrond looks at Galad.

"Gandalf has not yet made a decision regarding the ring bearer. That is why we are here. To decide who shall take the ring to Mordor."

    • "Sauron will always reclaim the ring, for as long as it continues to exist. The ring is not just an artefact of power with disturbing effects,it contains the soul of Sauron himself. Usage of the ring will result in our destruction and Sauron's victory. And it will be your fault"

    • He begins to pace. "Contrary to the beliefs of the elves and gondorians, the west is not the only land in middle earth, and this ring is not the only ancient relics. In the lands of the south we tend to treasure them, instead of tossing them in rivers, hence I've run across quite a few. I can tell you one thing about them, and I cannot stress this enough. They don't like to be found, they like even less to be used. And from what I've heard, or rather what I know, this ring is one of the worst. It's not a tool to be used, it's a being. We don't want to get on it's bad side. I'm all for destroying it, however possible."

    • "That is exactly what the legendarium says about it. It must be destroyed, though why it wasn't in the first place is not something that our historians and loresingers* know. It is now known to me that Isildur was possessed by the evil spirit which resides in it. I concur that it should be destroyed, though I would almost consider that a suicide mission. I will make it known that I would be willing to die on such a noble quest!"

At 'die' he slams his fist onto the armrest of his chair.

Singing or verse may or may not actually be used in these plays. In this case, it's actually referring to the people who write those historical epics.
